    -The Vatican summit on the Protection of Minors in the Church Feb 21-24 -Colombian Cardinal Ruben Salazar Gomez of Bogota, head of the council of Latin American bishops, spoke about the responsibility of bishops to face "conflicts and tensions" and act decisively -In response to rising anti-Semitic attacks in France, the Bishops conference is pledging its "seamless support for the Jewish community," and recalled Pope Francis' plea for "joint work to ensure anti-Semitism is banished from the human community -In early February a nine-member Vatican theological commission unanimously voted that Father Augustus Tolton's cause be moved forward to the Congregation for Saints' Causes for a final vote to send a decree of the priest's "heroic virtues" to Pope Francis for his approval
